We welcome visitors to our office! During your visit you will learn what we truly mean when we say our mission is “Fostering a sense of community”. Be prepared to hear about all of our great programs and community resources we offer. If you’d like a grand tour of our facility, we would be happy to! What type of organization is HJna?
Houghton Jones Neighborhood Association is a 501c3 Non-profit organization that only runs off donations and grants funded by other organizations and the government.
What type of programs you offer?
We offer different community enrichments, summer youth program, Sister Lois A. Sheaffer After School Enrichment Program, Community/Urban Gardening, Neighborhood Watch Group, CPR classes, Sewing classes….and so much more!
what is the age range for the summer and after school programs?
Currently we are only offering services for children and tweens ages 5 to 14. We are working on other programs and activities for our teenage demographic.
What activities are availABLEfor seniors?
We are currently developing programs and classes for our seniors to participate in. Currently the gardening program is available until the end of fall. We will update the community as the classes and programs are developed. Please review the calendar for upcoming classes and events!
how can I help?
You can help by supporting our organization with your time, talents, and/or donations. We could always use volunteers to provide their time or their talents to help provide even more services to the community.
What is a memebership and what does it entail?
We would love to have you as a member! These funds allow us to continue doing the great work needed in this community. Memberships allow the organization to apply and receive grants as well as strengthen and support the mission of our association. Memberships are $15 for individuals and $25 for organizations/churches/businesses. Come see the office manager or speak to a board member for more details.
How can I collaborate or propose an idea to work with Houghton-Jones Neighborhood Association on various Projects?
Great question! We are always looking to partner with our community leaders and advocate to offer even more opportunities and activities to the community we serve. Please contact our Office Manager or reach out to a board member to discuss your proposed partnership/collaboration!
